We support you to maintain your youth, through promoting social interaction and hobbies and interest, alongside offering advice and guidance on building your independent life skills.

The flourish programme aims to raise the young person’s awareness of how negative thoughts, feelings and behaviours can impact on their emotional wellbeing and development. The programme is based on using cognitive behavioural therapy approaches and person-centered interventions. Our aim is to help the young person enact change in thinking patterns and behaviours, thereby improving quality of life not by changing the circumstances in which the young person lives, but by helping the young person take control of their own perception of those circumstances.
We have a counsellor who is part of the Mavayah Living team who can provide short term support to the young people. We also provide access to longer term counselling, from external services, with the benefit of our service paying for sessions up to the mid-way review or 4th session, whichever comes first.
We strongly believe in young people taking control of their own lives and want to support them to identify aspects of their lives that are important to them and then to set achievable goals
The Young Person’s Independent Living Star covers eight outcome areas that allow the young person to think about how things are going and if there is anything that they need a little extra help with.
These are as follows:
1, Where I live
2, Looking after myself
3, My Health and Well-being
4, Being treated with dignity
5, Making meaningful use of my time
6, My Social Circle
7, Managing my Money
8, How I feel about my life
