Tomorrow Will Be A Better Day

Team ethos:

We work side by side and aim to support you to thrive.

At Mavayah Living – safety is our upmost priority, you really do matter.

Lets Talk Safety

Safety first!

Safeguarding:

Mavayah Living – safety is our upmost priority

We ensure that all our staff members are adequately trained before starting with us in areas such as safeguarding children, mental health and cognitive behavioural therapy skills.  Whilst working with us, all staff will be encouraged to keep key training up to date and participate in further training to support them in advancing their knowledge and expand on their skills and practice. All staff have regular supervision sessions and guidance and can approach and communicate with the Mavayah Living management team regularly.

Mavayah Living carries out a FULL enhanced DBS check before a staff member can begin supporting our young people

Mavayah Living – efficiency and safeguards

Mavayah Living staff will keep detailed daily logs and will record all sightings, daily contact and details of all engagement sessions with young people

Updates of sessions will be sent over to the young person’s social worker so that they are kept up to date on progress and are also involved in risk assessing each young person.

We provide a life skills booklet that we can work through with the young people to evidence all their hard work whilst being with us and all this information will be sent over to the social workers to keep them up to date with the young person’s progress.

MAVAYAH’S RECONNECT FAMILY PROGRAMME

Additional Information

We can support a plan for safe reunification home and will assist the young person to rebuild bonds with their family.

A designated staff member can provide a safe space to facilitate and encourage conversations between the young person and family member or relevant other, to help rebuild relationships.

Our programme focusses on three key areas:

Buildings bonds (between the young person and the family member or relevant other)

Signs and triggers (tailored to the individual young person)

The modern-day child (focusing on internal and external factors)

This programme offers a solution focused intervention. We support the young person and  family member or relevant other to set out their goals on how they wish to repair a fractured relationship. We go through the areas that require further development and mediate as discussions are held on what led to the breakdown, where changes can be made, and how to sustain these changes. The overall aim, is for the young person and family member or relevant other to have a better understanding of the other, to explore how their actions impact the other, and formulate a plan to work together to positively move forward.

To support the young person, we can offer support to talk with the family or relevant other, about the young persons struggles and discuss the resources and tools used to appropriately navigate through these issues. The purpose of this, is to give their family member or relevant other an insight into the young person’s world and have the knowledge, skills and confidence to deal with these issues when the young person returns home.
